Interim Student Minister Announcement

The Personnel Committee is excited to announce that we are extending a call to Mason Rose to serve as our Interim Student Minister. Mason has been actively involved in our church, working closely with our former student minister, and we believe he is well-equipped to guide our students during this transitional period.

Job Description

Position: Interim Student Minister

Duration: 3-Month Initial Period (September 22, 2024 - December 21, 2024) with the possibility of extension for an additional 3 months (ending March 21, 2025)

Responsibilities:

• Lead weekly student group meetings, including Bible studies, worship, and prayer.

• Provide spiritual mentorship and support to students.

• Plan and organize student events and activities.

• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and volunteers.

• Manage student ministry resources and report regularly to church leadership.

Important Dates

• Special-Called Business Meeting and Vote: Sunday, September 22, immediately after the morning service. The church will vote to confirm Mason Rose as our Interim Student Minister during this meeting.

This is a temporary position with an initial 3-month duration, which may be extended for an additional 3 months. The position may conclude after the initial or extended period if Mason or the church leadership feels led to do so. A review will be conducted at the end of both the 3-month (December 21, 2024) and 6-month (March 21, 2025) periods to assess the direction of the ministry and future steps.

“I heard they were called the ‘sinner’s church’ because they welcomed folks who had a past. I’m thankful they did… because I am a life that was changed by Jesus here at Westside.”

Thanks for checking us out at Westside. Some folks have labeled us, "The Sinner's Church..." Why? The Simple Answer: We are a perfect place for imperfect people. We all have a story to tell. We all come with a past and our own amount of baggage. Our Goal as a church is simple: love God and love people... pure and simple (Matthew 22:37-40). So while we may all enter here as sinners, the Lord continues to change lives one sinner at a time. He can change your life today! He continues to rescue and heal and deliver. So if you feel like you're a sinner that won't be welcome at a church nearby, then you'll definitely want to come and check out Westside. It's a place you can call home. It's a place where we'll introduce you to Jesus. He'll accept you just as you are... but Praise The Lord you won't stay that way. He turns sinners into saints every single day. If we can assist you in any way, please feel free to contact us.
